Black Pumas - Chronicles Of A Diamond

Their new album, "Chronicles of a Diamond," will be released on October 27th via ATO Records. Produced by Quesada and primarily mixed by six-time Grammy Award winner Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, The War on Drugs), Burton takes on the role of co-producer on the ten tracks, infusing his free-spirited musicality into each one.

"It felt like a metamorphosis in a way that was both beautiful and difficult, but in the end feels more true to who we are as collaborators," the singer explains. While the songs were created in the studio, they definitely capture the frenetic energy generated during the duo's live shows. The result is a unique hybrid of soul and symphonic pop, composed with even more flair and extravagance than its predecessor. Including unexpected forays into jazz-funk and psychedelic realms, complete with hypnotic rhythms, wild guitar riffs, and atmospheric Mellotron melodies that radiate a trance-like euphoria. "With this album, I felt very free in my vocal performance, which has a lot to do with Adrian hearing something in my voice and helping me to explore that," adds Burton.

When Black Pumas released their self-titled debut in 2019, the Austin duo sparked a reaction almost as extraordinary and captivating as their music itself. Acclaimed by the media, they garnered a total of six Grammy Award nominations (including Best New Artist and Album of the Year). In addition to live performances at the aforementioned Grammy Awards, Black Pumas also played at the NFL Draft broadcast and at Joe Biden's inauguration. They toured throughout Europe, North and South America, and appeared on popular late-night shows like Jimmy Fallen, Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen DeGeneres, and Stephen Colbert. Their album sold over a million copies, and their single "Colors" alone has garnered over 450 million streams. Now it's time to begin the band's second chapter.
