Bob Dylan – Empire Burlesque

"Empire Burlesque" is Bob Dylan's 23rd studio album, originally released in 1985. Dylan produced the album himself and it reached number 33 in the USA and number eleven in the UK. Accompanied by a whole host of studio musicians - including Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers members Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench and Howie Epstein - the album has a particular 80s aesthetic. Fans and critics still argue about the album's value today, especially in comparison to his albums from the sixties and seventies. "Empire Burlesque" is certainly one of the most compelling albums since "Blood On The Tracks" and is filled to the brim with subtle gems that begin to shine when lifted into the light. Highlights of the album are: "Tight Connection to My Heart (Has Anybody Seen My Love? )", "Emotionally Yours" and "Dark Eyes".
