Flexible returns
American guitarist, singer, songwriter and sound engineer, one of the founders of Tulsa Sound; J.J. Cale. »Really« was produced by Audie Ashworth, the best producer Cale has ever had, and who knew when to press the recording button to ban all the magical moments on tape.
The master of »Laid Back« - music making published after »Naturally« his second album in 1973. Cale's second album further developed the »Tulsa sound« for which he was to become known: a swampy mix of folk, jazz, shuffling country blues and rock'n'roll.
For example, the restrained and intense guitar work and the seemingly nonchalant singing of lines like »You get your gun, I'll get mine« with disarming casualness. This created a sound with a lot of drive and a raw, intimate vibe for his second studio album.
