With »Discovery«, Mike Oldfield continues his sought-after re-release series. More than 30 years after the original album, the record has been completely remastered and expanded with several rare tracks.

»Discovery« is the ninth studio album by the British multi-instrumentalist. Apart from the drum parts, which were taken over by an old acquaintance, Simon Phillips, Oldfield played all the instruments himself. For vocals, he enlisted the help of Barry Palmer from the German band Triumvirat and Maggie Reilly, who had already played on the albums »QE2«, »Five Miles Out« and »Crises«. Despite their parts, Oldfield and Reilly never met to record »Discovery«. Instead, the tracks were recorded separately.

The original album contained a total of eight tracks, including the single »To France« and the instrumental piece »The Lake«. The 2016 remastered version features five bonus songs, including three tracks from the "To France" 12-inch single and two additional songs from the B-side of the "Tricks Of The Light" single.

"Discovery" is also available as a deluxe edition. This includes the remastered, expanded album, a second CD, and a DVD. The CD, "The 1984 Suite," features tracks from "Discovery" and the film soundtrack "The Killing Fields," as well as other rarities. The DVD includes "The 1984 Suite" in 5.1 surround sound and three promotional videos.

The name says it all: "Discovery" (Remastered 2015) takes Mike Oldfield fans on a sonic journey of discovery. Legendary songs meet modern sound.
