Reissue of the Nick Cave classic. This vinyl reissue was overseen by Bad Seeds member Mick Harvey! Nick Cave's ninth studio album (1996) was supposed to be thanks to his duet with Kylie Minogue, "Where The Wild Roses Grow," Nick Cave suddenly found himself at the top of the charts worldwide.
Other guests on the album include PJ Harvey and the former Pogues singer Shane MacGowan. As the album title suggests, these are traditional stories in which a murder committed in the act of passion plays a central role. Musically these are staged between morbid country, clever alternative rock and playful cabaret jazz.
Nick Cave's vinyl editions were long out of print and considered rarities. In October, the film "20,000 Days on Earth" was released, a kind of (tongue-in-cheek) documentary about the life and work of Nick Cave.
